“We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day.”
Edith Lovejoy Pierce
What will the Cimarron School of Living Education book of Opportunity look like this semester? We are excited to find out! Read below for more information about all the new things 2022 is bringing to Cimarron!

You may have noticed there are some new events listed on the Enrolled Families Facebook page!
Each month during the spring semester, Cimarron will arrange a special time just for the parents! These optional, relaxed evenings of conversation will encourage, equip, inspire and motivate Cimarron parents in their home learning days. We invite parents to participate in a way that is helpful for you– either by hosting at your home, bringing snacks, or just coming and soaking up the good conversation!
January Meeting Details:
January 10th, 7-8:30 pm
This month will be hosted by Mrs. Geesaman in her home.
RSVP and find the address on the Enrolled Families Facebook page.
Topic for January Fireside:
Preparing for the Day/Week/Year for school
Come and share or just listen! We will chat through these questions:
- What is your process like to prepare for the day/week/term/year?
- What are growth areas you’d like to focus on?
- Has there been anything helpful that you’ve tried this year?
- Any mistakes you’ve made in prep and want to share….or wins?

During our Parent/Teacher conferences, we became aware that while all seem to love Cimarron dearly, some are struggling during their home learning days. We would like to come alongside these families and better support their home learning days. Therefore, Cimarron will begin a pilot program starting in January. We will provide consulting services through Cimarron for any family needing additional assistance for their home learning days. Initial consultants will be myself (Mrs. Ciardi) and Mrs. Geesaman. Those enrolled in the pilot program will receive:
- Tailored daily schedules for home learning days
- Tailored curricular and book choices through the Alveary
- Weekly teacher training resources
- Accountability and support/encouragement through monthly consultant check-ins/meetings
In order to enroll in the pilot program, each family must:
- Pay $50 registration fee
- Pay $100 per month and commit to a full semester of support (January-May)
- Complete a one time purchase an Alveary membership (if not already purchased) using the Cimarron discount code ($150)
- Commit to an initial consultation and monthly meetings
If you feel your family would benefit from this program, please email Minda.

After a VERY successful Quilt Camp last semester, we have decided to hold a monthly “Skills Camp” where children can be dropped off for the day, learn some new skills, and have a blast! Stay tuned for the announcement about the January Skills Camp!

Re-enrollment is open for existing families!
We have completed the first semester of our first year at Cimarron School of Living Education! Our students continue to delight us with their desire to learn and grow with their fellow classmates.
The Cimarron staff and Board of Directors have been busy making plans for the future. While we plan to welcome new students for next year, your children are our foundation. In an effort to give our current students first priority in the 2022-2023 enrollment process, we ask families to complete a simple, online Re-Enrollment form and submission of the re-enrollment fee, letting us know they’ll be joining us for another great year of a feast of knowledge and ideas. This step allows us to make sure each student’s spot at Cimarron is reserved for the following school year, and assess how many new student seats we have available. Once you submit the Re-Enrollment form and fee, we will send you the necessary paperwork to complete the enrollment process, including a Tuition Payment Plan and an Enrollment Agreement.
Note: Cimarron will be offering two new classes next year:
Pre-K (ages 4-5 years old)
9th-10th grade
2022-2023 Re-enrollment Calendar

We look forward to continuing our partnership with your family!

We would love to see Cimarron continue to thrive and grow…and what better advertising than word of mouth! We have some information meetings and viewing days scheduled in the next few months.
